General information

The Council of Elders is a government organization whose mandate is to promote the rights and interests of seniors and their participation in community life. This site presents several interesting references of community associations, governmental sites, advocacy, etc.

Programs and Services in Quebec: Seniors and Persons with Disabilities

Portail Québec provides information on services offered to Quebec citizens, including services offered to disabled persons (accessibility, housing, home help services, transportation, etc.) and seniors (health, loss of autonomy, housing, home maintenance, taxes and fiscal measures, etc.).

Census of persons with reduced mobility

The Montreal Fire Department (SSIM) has a computerized database that allows it to quickly identify and evacuate people with reduced mobility in the event of a disaster. To register for this computerized database, simply visit a fire station, an Accès Montréal office or call 514-872-3775. Each request is treated confidentially.
