Rotary International has been deeply involved in the fight to eradicate polio around the world for many years. In 1985, The Rotary Foundation created the PolioPlus program to lead the private sector in a global effort to eradicate polio. In 1988, Rotary International partnered with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta to launch the Global Polio Eradication Initiative to support global immunization activities. In 2007, a financial partnership between Rotary International and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation was announced to provide $200 million over three years for the polio eradication campaign. In 2010, the partnership has grown to a goal of $555 million, with $200 million from Rotary International and $355 million from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
This organization is the directing and coordinating authority for international health work within the United Nations system. It is responsible for leading the global health agenda, setting health research agendas, establishing norms and standards, presenting evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing public health trends. Alberta. Wildrose Polio Support Society s mission is to inform and support those affected by polio, disseminate information on research and treatment related to post-polio syndrome, encourage research and raise awareness.
The organization of the Nova Scotia Polio Nova Scotia works closely with Easter Seals Nova Scotia to educate people affected by polio and health care professionals, and to maintain a registry of people affected by polio.

Polio Australia s objectives are to educate, inform, raise awareness, facilitate the delivery of appropriate health services, support research on the effects and consequences of post-polio, support those affected by polio and their families, and support polio immunization on a national level.
The Polio Network is a service of Independence Australia. Its objectives are to provide current information on polio and its consequences, to support the formation of support groups, to raise awareness of the concerns of those affected by polio, and to promote immunization against polio.
South Africa. The Post-Polio Network RSA provides support and information to people affected by polio and promotes immunization against polio. Membership is not limited to South Africa and is open to all African countries.
APPA s mission is to inform, support and advocate for those affected by polio; to identify and work with resources that are helpful to those affected.
France. GLIP aims to inform polios and professionals on the late effects of poliomyelitis and post-polio syndrome, to provide a listening service, to inform people with poliomyelitis about their social rights and to help them with their procedures, and to initiate departmental groups for reflection and exchange of experiences among polio sufferers and with professionals.
